Dining in Amman
If you love Arabic food, warm friendly hospitality, and a mix of both modern and ancient history, you’re going to love Jordan! Home to nearly half the population, Amman is the biggest, busiest, and most energetic city in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. We've gathered some of the best restaurants in the city (some of which are a must-try).

FAKHRELDIN
Levantine Cuisine
Located only a few meters away from the 1st circle near one of the oldest neighborhoods of Amman. It was originally built and owned by the late H.E. Mr. Fawzi Al-Mulki one of the Prime Ministers of Jordan. Fakhreldin is one of the must-try restaurants in Amman, offering Arabic/Levantine cuisine.

ALEE BY ALI
Fine Dining Middle Eastern Cuisine
Alee, a new restaurant in Amman, offers a fine dining twist on Middle Eastern cuisine with an added bonus of beautiful views of old Amman and the Citadel. The restaurant is run by Top Chef MENA winner Ali Ghzawi and it's also a great spot for drinks and finger foods.

HASHEM
Breakfast / Middle Eastern Cuisine
Located in the downtown area, It's one of Amman’s oldest and best-loved restaurants, Hashem is a simple bistro revered for its wholesome, good quality grub. A set menu of traditional Jordanian fare is what’s on offer, which features – by common consensus – some of the best falafel in the country. Make sure to pass by Habiba (2 min walk) for dessert; offering one of the best Kunafas in town.

THE LOMBARD
Italian Cuisine
The Lombard, located in the Grand Hyatt hotel, is a popular dining spot in Amman known for its delicious Italian cuisine, including pasta, meat, and seafood. It's also a great place to grab a drink, but be sure to make a reservation as it can get crowded, especially on weekends.

SOLAYA
Mediterranean Cuisine
Solaya is another great option for a fine dining experience in Amman, offering delicious Mediterranean-style seafood and meat dishes. The restaurant also has a lovely outdoor garden, which is the perfect spot to dine in during nice weather. Highly recommended.

Bars & Nightlife
Hop around the best bars in Amman to keep that endorphin rush going. You may be surprised to discover that Amman has such a buzzing nightlife.
Shopping
Jordan is renowned for its handicrafts and you'll find plenty of craft centers in Amman which stock high-quality items like coffee pots, candlesticks and handmade textiles. Amman is also great for buying gold and jewellry, which is sold by weight.

DOWNTOWN AMMAN
Local Crafts & Souvenirs
The streets of downtown are full of little shops selling everyday items, some of which make excellent souvenirs. King Talal Street is the best place to start. Look for items like the traditional Turkish coffee services, Arab robes and keffiyeh (red & white chequered headdresses).
